We offer a first hand experience through a tour to South Africa and Ghana, West Africa. These two countries represent two very distinct African cultures and experiences. In this twenty-one day Experience of a Lifetime, discover the best of sub-Sahara Africa. In South Africa we will experience the sophistication and beauty of Cape Town, visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, and tour the wine lands of Western Cape Province. We will also tour the vibrant African city of Johannesburg, and visit Soweto which played a crucial role in the struggle against apartheid. Exceed all expectations with an adventure in one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world. A short flight will take us to a private game reserve bordering the Kruger Park with plenty of photo opportunities, viewing the "Big Five" up close in their natural bush habitat. In Ghana we will experience the richness of West African cultures including visits to traditional villages to attend durbars of chiefs amidst performances of drumming, dancing, and singing. Participate in a naming ceremony where we are each given a traditional African name. Shop for outstanding African art and crafts. Tour the Kakum national park. Take a walk on the canopy bridge hanging 100 feet above the forest floor, which is the only one in Africa and one of five in the world. Visit Elmina, the town that welcomed the first European on its soil in 1471 and where the first castle was built by the Portuguese in 1482. Visit the Cape Coast Castle and slave dungeon, a 1664 British construction that was one of the largest African slave trading posts, which houses the West African Historical Museum.
